Vanderpump Rules season 12 is officially underway with the new cast already filming, Us Weekly can confirm.
Lisa Vanderpump was spotted filming outside her famed SUR eatery on Wednesday, April 9, in footage obtained by TMZ.
News broke in November 2024 that season 12 will feature a brand-new crop of SURvers, and not longtime cast members Katie Maloney, Ariana Madix, Tom Sandoval, Scheana Shay, Tom Schwartz, James Kennedy and Lala Kent.
“What a thrill it is to build on the legacy of this series by doing it all over again,” executive producer Alex Baskin said in a statement at the time. “With profound appreciation for the original group and their iconic run, we can’t wait for the audience to see a dynamic new group of co-workers and friends make their way through life together.”
The press release further called the new cast a “close-knit” group of SUR employees who are “complicatedly involved with one another as their iconic predecessors.”
While Bravo has not confirmed the casting lineup, Vanderpump, 64, is certain that they will be able to uphold the reality TV show’s legacy.
“When you have a restaurant, especially in Hollywood, with a revolving door of beautiful people who are all kind of normally rather large personalities because they come to Hollywood for a reason, it’s always complicated,” Vanderpump exclusively told Us Weekly in February. “I am sure it’s gonna be very different with these young little minxes when they get to work, but we shall see.”
According to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, she has “some very interesting characters” joining the series.

“SUR has been around a long time,” Vanderpump told Us. “And as I [always] say, it’s a show we could have shot 12 months of the year.”
While the show is moving on from the OG cast members, Vanderpump still holds them all in high esteem.
“I do love them all regardless of their antics and their foibles,” Vanderpump said on Bravo’s “Hot Mic” podcast earlier this month. “There’s a deep love just because of what we’ve been through together and seeing them at such a young age, even though they’ve been very frustrating at times, for sure, and they’ve made mistakes.”
Per Vanderpump, she heard from Schwartz, 42, Kent, 34, and Kennedy, 33, “straight away” after the casting shakeup made headlines.
“I think Ariana texted me or tweeted me or something. Katie, I didn’t hear from. But, as I say, that doesn’t really surprise me,” the restaurateur further claimed. “It’s strange because I’m not saying they should be grateful to me — but they should be grateful for the show. We always celebrated them. But that show gave them a plethora of opportunities they wouldn’t necessarily have had.”
Maloney, 38, meanwhile, alleged on the Thursday, April 10, episode of “The Viall Files” podcast that she hasn’t heard “a peep” from Vanderpump either.
