Daniel Craig Has Mastered Anti-Corporate Khakis

Ever since he fronted Loewe’s fall-winter 2024 menswear campaign, Daniel Craig has been dishing out killer fits like a pro. Think of the baggy balloon cargos and crazy sweater he wore to the label’s most recent show. And then, over the weekend, the actor doubled down on the big slouch in New York.

Craig was in town to promote his latest movie Queer alongside fellow cast member Drew Starkey, Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson (who costumed the movie), director Luca Guadagnino, and screenwriter Justin Kuritzkes. While he was in NYC, he swung by the BAFTA Tea Party, keeping things chill in a baggy navy work jacket with a white shirt. And, again, there are parallels to be drawn between the workwear-leaning Loewe pieces he wore last month, with a pre-worn effect adding some vintage vibes.

Down below, Craig cemented his love of seriously slouchy pants with some baggy khakis, which he wore with fuzzy suede Loewe Campo boots—the Spanish label’s playful take on the classic Chelsea boot. To tie it all together, he wore blue-lensed specs and an unreleased stainless steel Omega Seamaster 300.

Craig’s string of style wins have all centred around baggy pants, and they’re pretty versatile. Take his khakis. Yeah they look great with a suede boot, but they’d also slap with a black sneaker, like the recent Comme des Garçons Nike Air Max TL 2.5, or a Birkenstock Boston. Basically, they’re gonna work really well with a lot of shoes: By half-covering your shoes, rather than exposing them, it helps to create a softer silhouette, which means more freedom with the shoes you wear.

And it’s not just Craig that’s mad for baggy clothing either. At the latest spring/summer 2025 shows there was no shortage of massive fits. Bottega Veneta’s supersized suits find a happy home with A$AP Rocky. Or look to Justin Bieber, who’s been rocking baggy pants for some time now, pushing louche denim to the max in his off-duty fits. And just this weekend, Heartstopper‘s Kit Connor balanced the big with the classic with some Studio Nicholson jeans.

If you’re wondering how to nail the whole loose-fitting thing, take point from Daniel Craig and pair baggy pants with killer outerwear and quiet accessories. You’ll strike the perfect balance between not giving a damn and being the best-dressed in the room. And who wouldn’t want that?
